What Are the Advantages of Invisalign?

Invisalign is nearly invisible. It is definitely looks better that brackets and wires. Invisalign is also more comfortable because brackets rub against the cheeks and lips. The movements are also more controlled, so you typically don’t have the pain associated with the frequent adjustments of traditional braces. You can remove Invisalign to clean your teeth, whereas it is very difficult to clean around brackets and wires.

What Are the Disadvantages of Invisalign?

There have been people who say it doesn’t work. But the truth is it does. Invisalign doesn’t work IF you don’t wear them. Patients need to wear them 22 hours per day, taking them out only to eat and clean your teeth. Many orthodontists prefer brackets and wires because they don’t have to worry about this patient compliance. There are a few specific movements that can be achieved more reliably with brackets. Invisalign also cannot account for significant growth, meaning that it won’t work for young children typically under the age of 15.
