What Does Invisalign Cost?

Everyone wants to know the costs of Invisalign. Unfortunately there isn’t a simple answer, but we will do our best to explain costs. We will also explain the range of fees you may see on the internet.

Invisalign Insurance Code

Medicine and dentistry services are categorized by insurance codes. Invisalign is technically considered “Comprehensive Orthodontics”. It is further separated by patient age as “Adult Comprehensive Orthodontics” or “Adolescent Comprehensive Orthodontics.” The average cost of these services as of January 1, 2012 in the metro Phoenix area can be seen in the table on the right. This information comes from the website www.bracesinfo.com.

Invisalign Costs Vary

For the dentist or orthodontist, Invisalign carries a greater initial cost than traditional braces. But during treatment, less time is required in the dental chair, so these costs are less. Align Technology, the company that makes Invisalign aligners varies there costs slightly depending on how many aligners are needed. The range of these costs are determined if the patient needs 5 aligners or less, 10 aligners or less, or more than 10 aligners. So this makes the cost vary per patient.

Beware of Deceptive Low Prices on the Internet

You will sometimes see a very low price listed on the internet for Invisalign. Often the price will be preceded by the phrase “starting from” or “as low as”. Or it may say “Call for details”. These are usually fees for the Invisalign treatment requiring less that 5 aligners. If you need more aligners, your fee is higher. Also, there are usually extra charges for each retainer (top and bottom), any refinements needed, etc. Invisalign is worthless without retainers. So by the time you add these costs, your fees are much higher than expected.

Our Invisalign Fees are All-Inclusive

The average cost of Invisalign in the Phoenix area, by the time all fees are added is close to $6000. Our fee for full Invisalign is $4950. For 10 aligners or less, it is $4450. And for 5 aligners or less, our fee is $3950. These fees are all-inclusive, meaning that we include x-rays, exam, impressions, photos, attachments, attachment removal, refinements, bite adjustments, and retainers. We don’t charge extra for these like most of the low prices listed on the internet. Where else on the internet have you seen a dental website this open and honest about their fees?

Insurance and Payment Plans for Invisalign

Your out-of-pocket expense may be less if your dental insurance provides orthodontic coverage. Many insurance plans do. So, for example, if you insurance provides $2000 in coverage, and you need full Invisalign, it may pay that towards the $4950 fee, reducing your out-of-pocket expense to $2950. We also offer payment plans through CareCredit and Springstone Financing. They offer variable plans from 5 years low-interest plans to 12 months at no interest. Our staff can help you apply at our office and work out which payment plan works best for you.
